THE BRONZEVILLE FILM FESTIVAL
Judging/Prizes/Awards
In keeping with the Festival's theme of spotlighting African-American filmmakers, special consideration will be given to those projects that have an African-American in a key position behind the camera, or in front of the camera including teachers/advisors.
FESTIVAL PRIZES
· Select narrative features, documentary features, and short films participate in the Festival’s three competitive sections, the winners of which are chosen by special juries.
· Most features and shorts are eligible for Audience Awards, which are chosen based on ballots submitted by Festival audiences and are presented in the following categories: Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, International Feature, and Short Film.
· All awards will be presented to the filmmaker of the winning films during the Bronzeville Film Festival “star-studded” Gala. Awards are based on overall merit of the entries.
· Works will be judged on the basis of: creativity, originality, artistic quality, and technical quality
· Jury will consist of 4-6 invited local film professionals facilitated by BFF staff
· Finalists will have their films shown at the BFF on June 18th and/or 19th, 2010. Select films will also be featured in a trailer at the Gala on June 17, 2010.
· All Finalists will be recognized at the Festival and the Program Book.
· All Finalists will receive a free pass to the Festival
BEST OF THE FEST:
A trophy will be awarded to the winner of this award. Best of the Fest can be in any category, but only one will be selected for the final presentation. Winning entries may be used for promotional segments and/or Gala events.Through the resources of industry-related sponsors, BFF will solicit prizes and film services for winning filmmakers.
